Reassur3d provides a full range of medical
services including diagnostic ultrasound for both
pregnant and non-pregnant women.
The service is based at Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield and is run by Mr Tom Farrell, a Consultant who works full time in the NHS in the fields of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
The ultrasound equipment used is the Phillips MD11 which is one of the most sophisticated state of the art ultrasound machines providing trans abdominal and trans vaginal diagnostic 2D ultrasound scans, 3D and 4D Baby Bonding ultrasound scans.
Recently the advent of 4D ultrasound has brought about the development of a number of ultrasound imaging studios with minimal obstetric medical involvement and no mechanism for managing problems identified on scan. This is a lost opportunity for potentially optimising the outcome of the pregnancy.
Currently there is no UK regulating body to monitor private medical services and ultrasound services in pregnancy care and gynaecology.
Reassur3d is a founder member of the MUMS UK Network which was set up to ensure quality assured obstetric ultrasound and medical care for pregnant and non pregnant women.
The principles of the MUMS Network are endorsed by Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC) and the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA).
